| Hi, Here, they love "pure" arabians and only arabians. In France, they don't call Shagyas "arabians"... But I like Shagyas and I've got a son of Tatianus... Do you have a video from Odenko ? What is his size ? My foal is reallu tall... | |

In France, they don't call Shagyas "arabians"... Reading in the forum, I recognized this already - I had this question in mind as I wrote the answer in the "German Endurance Forum" thread. I do not speak French very well - but I can read in pictures - and most of them show the head . Why is this so? I like a small Dish, too (I'm glad my mare has a little one - I think from Kilimandscharo because Ainhoa has none- but it's not the ultimative criteria for a good horse ). This explains why no one votes for one of my favorite stallions - in Germany they are accepted as Arabians (rather than in the classic German warmblood races *g* - in the case of Invincible Sir). I'm a bit undecided which stallion to choose - but I'm tall and "pure" Arabians are too small for me. Shagyas are normally not my faavorites - but Odenko convinces me somehow - he has great, calm eyes, in height he has 159cm and is correctly built. His ratings are very good in the "70-Tage-Test", he has in character, constitution and the will for achievement 10 (best note!). He is better in dressage (over the average) and near average in jumping. One can't ride on paper - but his bloodlines are very good elite horses among them) - but not from Egypt - a further criteria in France, I think . Egyptian Arabians are not very widespread in Germany - as I told already, we use lines from Poland, Hungary or so. I think they better fit to the German warmblood lines, that's why... This tatianus? http://www.harasdesgriottes.com/Eng/etalons_e.cfm#2 NICE Here are videos about Odenko: http://www.shagyazucht.net/bewegte_Bilder/bewegte_bilder.html Breeder's homepage Please let me know what you think .

| Yes, this Tatianus, who comes from Germany (Ms Pack breeding, the french breeder bought him whe she died) and who is Odenko father. I can see only the first and second video. I'd like to see him under saddle. He looks like his father and his half brother, KS Tribute, which is now in USA. Look at this vidéo from KS TRIBUTE http://www.harasdesgriottes.com/videos.cfm And take a look here http://www.shagyasport.com/ks_tribute.html | |

| As you can see, I'm not very much interested in heritage information - as I said, I can't ride paper - I didn't get the connection - sorry. Do you have a picture of your horse? Would be good to get a further impression . (When I bought my mare they told me that the father is good in Endurance and that her Grandfather was a very good trotter - I googled for them years later and was astonished - that's how I found this forum, too - I googled again for Ainhoa and someone mentioned him here...and the stallions in the trotter line are all famous - what a surprise this was ). I watched your mentioned videos - I like the idea to take Odenko more and more - very nice/wonderful!!!! You can watch the DAT-videos about Odenko with this program: http://need4video.com/de/video-converter.html?gclid=CIH4xuu-6J8CFYoVzAodUT3Jqg - I think he does fine under saddle - very similar to KS Tribute . Odenko's breeder is 72 years - I should hurry . Taking Odenko would be a perfect situation: I only have to drive about one hour to get there and everything would take place on the natural way - no sending fresh semon from a to b and hurrying up with the veterinarian . All these points go to Odenko (apart that he is a very fine stallion and as I know now, he carries really good lines ) . | |

| My shagya is only 8 month's old... About Ainhoa, I've got one (16 years old this year), he is fantastik, but younger, he wes really very "speed" (and sometimes again...). But spanish arabians are really good for sports, espacially for cross. I regret not to have practice endurance with him before, he's got a very good heart (27). He is quite tall : 157 cm. By now, you can find arabian stallion at 160 cm. I like Odenko too ! | |

| Hi Chaka, no problem - show me your 8 months old one, please Yeah, Ainhoa is really good in endurance, a brother of Okira, does good, too as I know now (Nadjik, born 2001 - perhaps you've heard about him...) Okira is not so fast, I think - she can be fast, but normally not - she likes a slow tempo (she is very calm and I do not push her...). In pace, she is fast, yes . She does not sweat very much - her condition is great. She could do better and be good in sports, but I think she has the wrong owner - sadly I do not have much of time. But I think I will try her this year in TREC . I discuss the Odenko theme with German people in the Distanzritt-Forum, too. Your vote is for Odenko, they say strictly no because he is too similar to Okira (in throat and hind legs). To improve this, they vote for Invincible Sir (http://www.equiset.de/4774/44444.html) because he is much better in these points. Hmmm - keep what I have or try to change it in more German qualities???? Good question...I prefer to take Odenko first and if the product is ok, the next step could be Invincible Sir... ???? Sincerely, Britta Edit: I made new pictures, one from the side for a better information what could be improved in her exterieur (if nature likes...) - or to judge, which stallion to choose... | |
